Your Guide To Energy Independence

The American Society of Civil Engineers actually gave the U.S. energy grid a grade of a D+ and said that unless it gets a 673 billion dollar overhaul within the next few years, the energy grid could completely breakdown ...which would lead to a widespread energy crisis.

With the state of our country's aging energy grid I knew I couldn't count on having reliable power in the coming years and if the energy company couldn't even get my power back on within 3 days during a normal winter snow storm what would happen if a more serious situation took place or a power crisis happened?!

Well, I wasn't about to leave my family's safety and security to chance and I knew that if I truly wanted to end my dependence on the Big Energy Monopolies and if I wanted to finally eliminate my ever increasing and overpriced energy bills once and for all there was only 1 real solution.... "I had to take control of my home's energy and make my own green, renewable power right at home."

If the system with just a bare minimum amount of solar panels was that easy to build and it brought my energy bills down by that much ...It would be a piece of cake to build some more solar panels and scale up the system like Tim showed me and completely eliminate my energy bills!

Some months I'm even able to force the Big Energy Company to send me a check because I produce more energy than my family and I need; and I sell this excess power back to them! How's that for turning the table on those greedy fat cats!

That's when I realized that this was about something bigger and there were a lot of people out there, like me, that wanted to Take control and no longer be dependent on the Big Energy Monopolies and our country's aging energy grid ...and who wanted to drastically slash or eliminate their overpriced energy bills just like I had done.

We now knew that absolutely anybody could use our easy to follow, step-by-step, system to become energy independent and drastically slash their energy bills!

Going Off-Grid: Is It Possible for the Average Homeowner?

In recent years, the concept of going off-grid has gained popularity among homeowners who want to reduce their carbon footprint and lower their energy bills. But is it possible for the average homeowner to go off-grid? The answer is yes, but it requires careful planning and some lifestyle changes.

Going off-grid means becoming self-sufficient in terms of energy production. This means generating your own electricity from renewable sources such as solar panels or wind turbines, and relying less on traditional power grids. Going off-grid can be an attractive option for those who want to live a more sustainable lifestyle and reduce their dependence on fossil fuels.

The first step in going off-grid is to assess your energy needs. This involves calculating how much electricity you use on a daily basis and identifying ways you can reduce your consumption. For example, replacing incandescent light bulbs with LED bulbs can significantly reduce your energy usage.

Once you have identified ways to reduce your energy consumption, the next step is to invest in renewable energy sources such as solar panels or wind turbines. Solar panels are a popular choice because they are relatively easy to install and require minimal maintenance. However, they can be expensive upfront.

Another option is to invest in a backup generator powered by propane or natural gas. A backup generator can provide power during periods of low sunlight or wind, ensuring that you always have access to electricity.

Going off-grid also requires making some lifestyle changes. For example, you may need to adjust your daily routines so that you use more electricity during daylight hours when solar panels are generating the most power. You may also need to limit your use of high-energy appliances such as air conditioners or electric heaters.

In addition, going off-grid requires careful planning when it comes to water usage and waste management. You may need to collect rainwater for drinking and bathing purposes, and composting toilets may be necessary if you are not connected to a sewage system.

In conclusion, going off-grid is possible for the average homeowner, but it requires careful planning and some lifestyle changes. By reducing your energy consumption and investing in renewable energy sources, you can become self-sufficient in terms of energy production and reduce your carbon footprint. While going off-grid may not be for everyone, it is a viable option for those who want to live a more sustainable lifestyle.

When it comes to solar panel installation, going the DIY route can save you a lot of money. However, it is important to approach the project with caution and proper planning. Here are some tips and tricks for a successful DIY solar panel installation.

1. Determine Your Energy Needs - Before you start purchasing materials, calculate your energy needs to determine how many solar panels you will need. You can use an online calculator or consult with a professional to get an accurate estimate.

2. Choose the Right Location - Solar panels need direct sunlight to generate electricity, so choose a location that receives ample sunlight throughout the day. The ideal location would be on a south-facing roof or in an open area free of shade.

3. Get the Right Permits - Depending on where you live, there may be specific permits required for installing solar panels. Be sure to check with your local government before starting.

4. Invest in Quality Materials - While it may be tempting to cut costs by using cheaper materials, investing in high-quality equipment will ensure that your system lasts longer and performs better over time.

5. Follow Safety Guidelines - Solar panel installation involves working with electricity and climbing on roofs, so it is important to follow safety guidelines at all times. Use proper safety equipment and take precautions to prevent falls or electrical shock.

6. Test Your System - Once your system is installed, test it thoroughly before connecting it to your home's electrical system. This will ensure that everything is working properly and prevent any potential damage or accidents.

7. Monitor Your System - Regular monitoring of your solar panel system can help identify any issues early on and prevent costly repairs down the line.

By following these tips and tricks for DIY solar panel installation, you can save money while also reducing your carbon footprint and taking control of your energy usage. Just remember to approach the project with caution and proper planning for the best results!

DIY SOLAR ENERGY

Create Power At Home.

Creating renewable energy at home is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint and save money on your energy bills. With the help of some DIY projects, it's possible to generate your own electricity and heat without relying on traditional sources. Here are 5 DIY projects to create renewable energy at home:

1. Solar Panels: Solar panels are a popular choice for homeowners looking to generate their own electricity. They work by converting sunlight into electricity through photovoltaic cells. There are many DIY kits available that make it easy to install solar panels on your roof or in your backyard.

2. Wind Turbines: Wind turbines are another option for generating renewable energy at home. They work by harnessing the power of the wind to turn a rotor, which in turn generates electricity. DIY wind turbine kits can be purchased online or at hardware stores, making it relatively easy to install one in your backyard.

3. Solar Water Heater: A solar water heater can be a great addition to any home, especially if you live in a sunny area with plenty of direct sunlight. These systems use solar collectors to heat water, which can then be used for showers, washing dishes or laundry, and other household tasks.

4. Geothermal Heat Pump: A geothermal heat pump is an efficient way to heat and cool your home using the earth's natural temperature as a source of energy. While this project may require professional installation due to its complexity, there are many resources available online for those who want to attempt it themselves.

5. Biofuel Generator: A biofuel generator is an innovative way to generate electricity using waste materials such as vegetable oil or animal fat as fuel sources. This project requires some expertise in mechanics and electrical engineering but can be a rewarding venture for those willing to put in the effort.

In conclusion, these 5 DIY projects offer homeowners the opportunity to create their own renewable energy sources at home while reducing their reliance on traditional sources of energy. While some of these projects may require professional installation or expertise, there are many resources available online to help guide you through the process. With a little effort and investment, you can create a more sustainable and cost-effective home for yourself and your family.
